So, our good friend came out with Facebook “Likes” this week replacing “Fans.”

Some people like (umm no pun intended?) this idea.

Many, hate it.

I have no idea how I feel about it yet other than the sort of awkwardness of dialogue:

“Come like us on Facebook!”

“Become a like!”

“We don’t want to marry you, we just one a quick like!” (Great he made about this).

And perhaps that I’d rather have 1,000 engaged folks that 10,000 likes…but who really knows?

Here is my point: We have no idea what is going to happen and none of us (unless Mark Zuckerberg is reading this and in that case, hi Mark) own Facebook. Facebook is going to continue to be an incredible tool for business and personal connections and I’m excited about the future. That being said, we all need to adapt. Who knows what will happen tomorrow? All the time complaining about it could be spent maximizing it.

In the video above,  I share my quick thoughts on this including a funny story about adapting (involving hockey players). I’ve learned from all kinds of successful people over time that when change happens (as it is inevitable), that is a positive.

Those that adapt will win.
