This past week I came back home from an awesome Mastermind, high up in the mountains in the northwest with some amazing people. And by people, I mean mediapreneurs (coaches, experts, personal brands, speakers, content creators, etc.).

On the plane, I started thinking about a topic that is super important and often overlooked.

What separates the most succcessful mediapreneurs from the ones stuck in the mud?

Meaning, what habits/strategies, etc. do they practice? (And, as a follow up, if you are stuck a bit…are you practicing them?)

After 350+ interviews with top mediapreneurs, hundreds of videos, thousands of articles, building my own mediapreneur business from scratch to multiple, multiple, multiple six figures in income as well as teaching thousands of others to do the same, I’ve jotted down a definitive list of what the most successful mediapreneurs DO (and how they think).

And I’m going to share these with you in a brand new series on DSG TV kicking off today.

The cool thing is, these strategies aren’t anything *super special* meaning you don’t have to be a certain gender, height, weight, or be ridiculously good looking to implement them. EVERYONE can implement them, and your business (and your life) will thank you.

Watch today’s DSG TV (Success Habit #1) below.

Definitely, definitely, definitely let me know what you think in the comments below the video.

I use RISE partner LeadPlayer for DSG TV, which helps me build my list with video. Check ’em out here.

I absolutely agree and hope to prove you right in the coming months. I consider myself to be a very decisive person and this year have been making many big decisions for my business. I’m sure the other habits you’ll be highlighting must be in place alongside decisiveness, so I’m looking forward to hearing what they are!

David, awesome video. Along with making a decision, I think it’s important to make decisions that stem from what you want or what you’re after. Not by comparing to others, or because you think “I’m supposed to do XYZ” or “I should have ABC before doing this”.

  • Totally with you. Just have to be more disciplined and exercise this more… being decisive and making the dang decision already. It definitely shifts my energy. Once I’ve decided, I can move forward and act on it.

    • Absolutely, all about momentum once you start making decisions, you make more decisions.

  • Excellent tip and perfect timing for me, DSG. I’ve been blessed with a crazy amount of ideas … I want to create a series of ebooks, videos and (now thanks to you and your latest offering) and online course. Now it’s time to DECIDE which project to work on first and just go for it.

    Thanks for the inspiration!

I don’t know David, is this a good tip or not…hmmm I just can’t decide! Haha just kidding! Action =Traction. Making a decision and moving on it quickly is a BIG tip! Looking forward to hearing more!

  • Agreed David, Decisiveness and FOCUS have been two traits I strive to maintain. Follow One Course Until Success!

  • So true, and especially online, where you can choose to create things in so many different mediums. I’ve been plagued by indecision in the past, but I’ve got it mostly licked now. One thing I did to overcome it was to buy a little notebook and write my top 3 priorities in it daily, 7 days a week. I started that exercise in September of 2011 and have been doing it everyday since! It’s a simple thing, but it’s helped me tremendously. Now I’m not gonna lie, some days I write down 7 or 8 things instead of 3, but I put the 3 most important action items at the top of the list. : )

    • GREAT exercise. Biggest problem online = overwhelm and 1/2 the battle is acknowledging it. Other half is getting rid of it 🙂

great point. well said as always!

Right on! I absolutely agree & appreciate this terrific advice, David. Thank you! Indecision can be crippling and extremely damaging to an individual and to a company. Another great video – please keep ’em coming!

  • The opposite of being decisive is piddle-dickin’ !! Stop piddle-dickin’ around and make a move – damn it! Its a problem with sales and insurance agents when deciding on a niche – doctors, lawyers, commercial, residential, life, disability… it can also be a problem with pro golfers. Sergio Garcia was stuck over the ball milking his club for what seemed like EVER before he would pull the trigger!

Once the decision has been made focus on the next move to get you to the goal line or final hole!!

Thanks David! As an entrepreneur, I find that I have tons of ideas and I’ll start working on them and at the end of the year, I find that I have 10 half finished projects.

Right now I’m focusing all of my attention on launching my course as a result of taking Create Awesome Online Course.

  • As ALWAYS! Once Again • Right On!
Thanks for Sharing and continuing to Inspire and Educate!
