About Today’s Guest, Kerry Robinson:

Kerry RobinsonKerry played Major League baseball for the Cardinals/Padres/Royals/Reds/Devil Rays from 1998-2006. Remember those dates as they were, in many cases, the huge bulk era in the game (cough..steroids…cough). But, Kerry was really a player from another era. As opposed to pure power, his game was based on speed. And he is a great guy.

I was lucky enough to meet Kerry a couple of years ago in St. Louis. In fact, he came out to an event we were doing with Anna Kournikova called Summer Business Break. Just an overall good guy. Enjoy this interview where I reminisce on his time in the major leagues and catch up with Kerry.

Question/Topic Of The Day & Random News/Notes:

#1: Geeks rock. That is all. Random, I know.

#2: Question or topic of the day. New thing on the show. Let’s talk sports since today’s guest played major league baseball. Assuming you watch sports or a sport of some kind, have you watched a sporting event on the Internet in the past year? Live streamed? Where did you watch it?

#3: And I get lots of questions all the time about podcasting and creating an online show. Maybe you want to create a show about birds or monkeys or sausages or whatever. The technical aspects. Basically the A-Z aspects. Here is the secret. There is someone that is the absolute master at this and it definitely is not me. It is Cliff Ravenscraft, aka the podcast answer man. And he rocks. Big time. If there is one guy to learn from on how to do your own show, it is him. Cliff has a class coming up starting on July 11th, back by pop demand, called (aptly named), . This will answer all of your questions. I was able to kidnap Cliff and torture him until he gave a promo code to RISE nation. All you have to do is go to and enter the code “risetothetop” and you will get $99 off. Boom.

  • Geeks do rock – I’ve just realized this as I am a recent convert to geekdom.

I am hoping to get into the St. Louis University School of Medicine next year – hopefully I’ll get to be a cardinals fan soon!

Haha, great to hear Graham…lots of cool geeks upcoming on the show 🙂

      That’s awesome. Good luck!!

  • I thought I wasn’t going to listen as often when you moved beyond business, but I’m finding myself bookmarking and downloading more of your interviews.

I still love business though. *Please* don’t stop doing those interviews in addition to the new ones.

Will listen to this one on an upcoming trip. Looking forward to it.

Andrew – Really appreciate the comment. And I’m definitely not stopping business-related many big ones upcoming. I do like sort of throwing in some different types now & then…but will definitely still have a big focus on biz.

      • Thanks.

I loved your Neil Strauss interview.

        • David Siteman Garland

Thanks man, that is definitely one of my favorites of all time.
